Welcome back to Term 3, it is great to have everyone back at school.
On the first day back we caught up with our friends, shared a few laughs and stories!
As part of our inquiry, we are looking at 'Watercare'. We looked at the local rivers and mountains, as we were going to use the names in our Pepeha. Check out our student blog to read our Pepeha.

Matariki
Kia Ora everyone, in Lockhart class we read a book about what Matariki is and then we wrote a paragraph about what we learnt on a star. We then decorated our star and this was displayed in our classroom.
Matariki is a celebration of the Maori new year, one of the things you could do is set new goals. In our class, we set new learning goals on paper feathers and created a class Korowai.
Thank you to Leon & Phersayiz who presented their writing during the Matariki Assembly.

Superstars!
Well done to students from Lockhart class!
They showed the Hay Park Way values during distance learning. Assigned tasks were completed to a high standard and they were always punctual on Google Meets.

Hay Park Way Champ
This week was our first HPW assembly, and we were over the moon when our class won the shield. Not only we were the top-scoring class, Pranav from our class was also the top-scoring student in the school!
We have worked really hard during Distance learning, we were given points for attendance and our work ethic. I would like to congratulate all students who demonstrated the Hay Park Way all the way through by being resilient, respectful and responsible.

Samoan Language week
Samoan Language week
In Lockhart class, we created art using images from Pacifica and Samoa. We had images printed and we looked at the designs and motifs. On big pieces of paper, we selected and drew the designs and patterns we wanted to create. Once we were happy with our designs, we chose 3 colours and a white pastel to outline our work. We copied our work onto a black piece of paper using a pencil, then we went over it with oil pastel.Thank you Fa'afetai
