Matariki Festival

This week is the last week of Term 3, we had such a blast celebrating Matariki as a whole school.

In Feu’u class, we discussed what Matariki was and why it was celebrated. We paired up with a buddy and we created presentations about Matariki.

Matariki is the Maori new year, so we decided that we wanted to set learning goals for ourselves. So decided to write our goals on feathers and create a class Korowai. A Korowai is a special cloak that Maori people wear on important occasions.

Our presenters for Feu'u class were Mekhi, Justin and Mahrosh.

The whole school dressed up in their wonderful cultural outfits, we had so much fun!

Here are some photos of our day.
